Unforgettable Journey Across Europe with My Best Friends: Part 2

During the second day of our journey, my two besties, Lina and Živilė, and I woke up full of energy and ready for our second day of adventures. Once again, we knew that today we would spend quite some time on the trains until we reached our next destination in Switzerland.

We took a bus to the train station, and, yay, everything was working smoothly today, with no holiday disruptions, making it easy to find the bus.

From Colmar, France, we took a train to Basel, Switzerland, where we had to change trains. For us, coming from a small country and seeing 30 tracks with a few underground layers can be overwhelming. So, when we saw how big the station was and realized we had only 8 minutes to catch the other train, we ran like we had never done before in our lives. With our backpacks on our backs, we felt like we were part of some kind of marathon. Some people joined us as they rushed to different tracks. We exchanged smiles and separated onto different tracks.

Luckily, we made it on time and caught our train! We probably even set our own best record for running as fast as possible with our full backpacks on our backs.

It was such a good morning exercise that I didn’t even need a coffee afterward because I felt fully awake and excited about where the day would take us.

Smiling and ready for more adventures, we caught our train to Interlaken Ost, Switzerland, and from there, we switched to Grindelwald, Switzerland, our destination for the day.

Grindelwald is a village located at 1,034 meters above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. The village’s name was first mentioned in 1146, and since the 19th century, Grindelwald has become an important tourist attraction.

It was early evening when we arrived there, so we decided to take a stroll and look around.

The area was absolutely gorgeous. As I told my besties, this is the place where I had always dreamed of coming and experiencing the country firsthand. It was so peaceful and beautiful here. My heart was dancing, and I was smiling all the time.

Here are some photos from our time in Grindelwald.
